Empower Adolescents & Families
ABOUT FOUNDER
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois in the late-1980s and 90s, or “Jordan-era” as we still call it. After graduating high school, I attended a liberal undergraduate program in Allentown, PA. During summers, I worked in food service and held multiple internships. I entered the workforce full-time in 2008 substitute teaching at the high school level. Since then I’ve found my vocation in adolescent education.
I have taught traditional curricula for Language Arts, Public Speaking, Law/Civics, and Drama/Theater in Chicago and Brooklyn schools, grades 6-12. I have experience in urban/suburban and public/private school settings. I hold a Masters of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University.
Having started a nonprofit microschool in Brooklyn, NY, Dida Academy, we are experts in alternative child education. We helped dozens of students find their calling and learn life-long multimedia skills such as film-making, graphic design, photography, musical instruments, acting, public speaking, and starting a micro-business. Your child can develop the entrepreneurial skills to make a living in the economy of the 21st century.
